Profession: Music Director, Bollywood.
Hridayanath Mangeshkar is better known for a variety of popular and film music, and is probably most famous for composing Yaara Seeli Seeli from the film Lekin ( lyrics by Gulzaar ) in the year 1991.
He is from the rich musical family of Indian music – the Mangeshkars. Son of composer / singer legend Dinanath and brother of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosleand Usha Mangeshkar, Hridaynath learnt music extensively and rigorously from his father, Ustad Amir Khan, Pandit Ramprasad Sharma and old – time wizards Husnlal Bhagatram.
In 1955 his first Marathi film released Akash Ganga. Since then he has worked for not more than 12 more Marathi include Sansar, Jait Re Jait, Umbartha etc and a few Hindi films. His hindi films include Dhanwan (1981) and Mashaal (1984) , Subah, Prarthana, Chakra, Harishchandra Taramati (70’s) and his own production Lekin, which won him the National Award for Music.
But the remarkable point is that his significant low output of about fifteen films did not deter him from winning as many as twelve (12) awards.
His hits include ‘Yeh Aankhen Dekha Ka’ (Dhanwan), ‘Yaara Seeli Seeli’, 'Suramaee shaam is tarah aaye' (Lekin) , ‘Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main’ (Mashaal) and Marathi film and non – film hits like ‘Jambul Vikle Zhaada Khali’ and the evergreen ‘Mee Dolkar’ and ‘Malvoon Taak Deep’.
Hridayanath Mangeshkar along with sisters(lata , Usha , Meena ) and their families stay together at Peddar Road, Bombay.
