Birth: 1899. Birthplace: Sitamau, Madhya Pradesh. Profession: Music Director, Bollywood. Family: Son Mustafa Sajjad. Sajjad Hussein was a famous Indian music director who composed many hit Indian film songs. He was also a fantastic mandolin player. He had the honor of being the only musician in the world able to play classical Indian music on the mandolin, an almost impossible task because of its limitations. Sajjad Hussein was a genius . However he never witnessed the glory or fame that he deserved because of his unwillingness to compromise on the smallest of details. Sajjad Hussein was born at Sitamau, Madhya Pradesh in the year 1899, Sajjad Hussein was born into a musical family. He had mastered the Sitar, Veena, Jaltarang, Accordion, Violin, Spanish and Hawaiian Guitars, Clarinet, Flute, Piano, Banjo and the Harp when he was yet a young man. In the year 1999 Sajid-Wajid gto Deewana that was Sonu Nigam's debut album released by T – Series.Deewana was an instant hit and hit the top musical charts with Made In India of Alisha Chinai. They also composed for Sohail Khan’s Hello Brother that had songs like ‘Chupke se koi aayega’, ‘Area ka hero hoon’, the title song and ‘Hata sawan ki ghata’. Their score for Baaghi also did quite well, especially because of the Shubha Mudgal track, ‘Piya tu kahan hai’. They normally present their tunes by singing them out, with the other brother vocally demonstrating the back – up beats and other arrangements. Both brothers are on a mission to fight the overdose of Punjabi folk and foreign influences with melody. Both have a strong liking for melody. They have also composed for films Maa Tujhe Salaam, Shyam Bajaj’s Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaaye, Milan Luthria’s Chori Chori, Yudh – The War and some others.Their recent releases include Baaghi (2000) , Gunaah (2002) and Garv (2004).On the Indi – Pop, private album circuit,they joined Alka Yagnik and Babul Supriyo. and one with Mehmood, an Egyptian singer. Also they are woring with Daler Mahendi, Shaggy, Chitra, Ustad Mashqur Khan and Sonu Nigam.
